Metcal Receives an SMT China Vision Award for Its HCT2-120 Hot Air Pencil

GARDEN GROVE, CA -- Metcal today announced that it has been awarded a 2014 SMT China Vision Award in the category of Rework Repair for its HCT2-120 Hot Air Pencil. The award was presented to the company during an April 23, 2014 ceremony at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Convention Center during NEPCON China.

“We are thrilled that the product has been recognized by this award,” commented Gary Stoffer, VP of Sales and Marketing. “We have seen a wonderful response to the hot-air pencil, as users have applauded the ergonomics as well as its ability to easily address miniature components.”

Metcal’s HCT2-120 Hot Air Pencil is ideally suited for applications that use smaller components and integrated circuits. As component miniaturization continues, the ergonomics of a pencil allow a user more freedom to access and rework components on the board, without affecting adjacent parts. The handheld convection tool features a 120 watt ceramic heater and dual stage air pump, digital airflow and temperature controls, fast response and performance, standby mode and universal power supply.

SMT China magazine launched the SMT China Vision Awards in 2007 to recognize both international and domestic providers of SMT equipment, materials, software and services that have made outstanding contributions to the rapid growth of China's electronics manufacturing industry by their inventions and innovations.
