Durable nameplates, labels for consumer products

MASON CITY, IOWA (June 26, 2008) - Metalcraft today celebrated 20 years as an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certified label supplier. As a manufacturer of durable nameplates and labels for over 50 years, Metalcraft has been authorized by UL to produce identification products bearing the UL logo since 1988.

UL is an independent product safety certification organization that has been testing products and writing Standards for Safety for over a century. UL evaluates more than 19,000 types of products, components, materials and systems annually with 21 billion UL Marks appearing on 72,000 manufacturers' products each year.

"UL labels are everywhere," said Metalcraft president Steve Doerfler. "And product safety is as important as ever. We wanted to take a moment to reinforce that the durability and longevity of Metalcraft's nameplates and labels is exactly what's required for UL registered products."

A UL recognized label contains safety-related information such as warnings, cautionary markings, installation instructions or electrical ratings about the product it is on. UL Labels require durability and longevity in order to retain the information that must remain permanently available to the consumer. A UL mark signifies both the label and the product it is on are UL approved.

Metalcraft is a approved by UL to print both Type R and Type L marks and produces three products that are UL certified - Photo Anodized Metal Nameplates, Photo Anodized Foil Labels and "AUTOGRAPHS" Printed Nameplates. The company offers hundreds of sizes and pressure-sensitive adhesives for excellent bond to unpainted metal surfaces such as aluminum, stainless steel and glass surfaces.
