Met-Pro Corporation Director Receives Prestigious Honors


Harleysville, PA, September 25 - Raymond J. De Hont, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Met-Pro Corporation (NYSE: MPR), is proud to announce that one of the Company's long time Directors, Dr. Alan Lawley, has been selected as an Honorary Member of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical & Petroleum Engineers (AIME). This is one of the highest honors bestowed on an individual by the Institute. It represents Dr. Lawley's "services to education, government, research and editorial activities, especially in powder metallurgy, and for professional service culminating as president of the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (1982) and AIME (1987)."
Dr. Lawley has also been invited by the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) to co-chair PM 2008, the 'World Congress on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials', in Washington, DC. MPIF is the trade association for the powder metallurgy industry and sponsors this international event in North America every sixth year.
Dr. Lawley is Emeritus Professor of Metallurgy in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of ASM and APMI International, and is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Powder Metallurgy. He is an expert in physical and mechanical metallurgy, powder metallurgy, composite materials, and materials engineering design. He has consulted, lectured and published extensively in these areas. Currently, Dr. Lawley serves as a member of Met-Pro's Audit Committee, and as co-chairman of the Product Development Steering Committee.
