ST. PAUL, Minn., Feb. 8: Merrill Corporation, a leading global provider of technology-enabled services for the legal, financial, real estate and other corporate markets, today announced WordWave International Pty Ltd, its wholly-owned subsidiary, has completed the acquisition of ComputerReporters, a leading provider of premium real-time and private reporting services to legal, corporate and government clients in Australia.
"The addition of ComputerReporters demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing the Australian legal market with premier litigation support services," said Mike James, President, Merrill Legal Solutions. "This acquisition builds on our geographic footprint in Australia and allows us to provide a comprehensive set of integrated legal solutions to a fast-growing market."
The acquisition of ComputerReporters enables Merrill Legal Solutions to expand its service capabilities to meet the needs of e-courts and trials conducted almost solely using electronic evidence -- a growing facet of the legal profession driven by better-technology, increased client demands and a changing regulatory environment.
"We're delighted to be joining forces with Merrill, a company with a proven record of providing end-to-end, industry-specific business solutions and consistent development and innovation in the legal market," said Errol Carter, Director, ComputerReporters.
WordWave, a global provider of litigation support, court reporting, captioning and transcription services for law firms, courts, governmental agencies and corporations, was acquired by Merrill in 2006. The addition of ComputerReporters makes Merrill Legal Solutions the largest provider of private reporting services in Australia.
"We look forward to combining the skills, talent and expertise that we have developed over 18 years in the industry with Merrill's existing service portfolio and technical expertise," said Lesley Dankbaar, Director, ComputerReporters. "This acquisition will allow us to provide the highest quality integrated reporting and litigation support solutions across the country."
Specific details of the agreement have not been disclosed.
