Meritor Meets Challenges of European Market with Latest MT-32-610 Hub-Reduction Tandem Axle


HANNOVER, Germany - Meritor, Inc. (NYSE: MTOR) today introduced its redesigned MT-32-610 hub-reduction tandem for the European commercial vehicle market at the IAA Hannover Commercial Vehicle Show.

The new tandem is lightweight, yet durable, and is intended for rugged, on- and off-highway use, including long haul, construction and logging. The MT-32-610 features specific ground clearance and a Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) of 32 tons for vehicles with a Gross Combination Weight (GCW) of up to 100 tons. The rear of this tandem is also available as a solo axle (MS-16-610) for single-drive axle applications.

Meritor's new hub-reduction drive axles are available in 10 carrier ratios from 1.04 to 2.08. In addition, they can be specified in two planetary hub reduction ratios: 3.46 and 3.33. The axles come standard with driver-controlled differential lock, which provides cross-axle locking and are manufactured at the company's axle manufacturing facility in Lindesberg, Sweden.
