Mendocino Lures Top Sun Storage Exec as President and CEO


FREMONT, Calif., November 6, 2007 - Mendocino Software, the industry-leading provider of enterprise-class application data availability and access solutions, today announced that Kathleen Holmgren, a former top storage executive at Sun Microsystems, has been named the company's new President and CEO succeeding Steve Colman who now takes over as Chairman. Colman will focus on revenue activities such as partnerships with Hewlett-Packard and working to expand Mendocino's channels.

Holmgren takes the helm at Mendocino as the company is experiencing unprecedented growth. She will be responsible for retaining and expanding the company's leadership in the enterprise Continuous Data Protection (CDP) marketplace with its market-leading InfiniView(TM) technology. InfiniView is in wide use worldwide by a rapidly growing customer base, including Global 1000 companies such as Continental Airlines, Sony Ericsson, the Department of Defense, Los Alamos National Laboratory and government agencies in Canada and the UK.

Holmgren joins Mendocino after more than two decades at Sun where she most recently was Senior Vice President of Sun's Disk Systems Business and played a key role in Sun's integration of Storage Technology Corp. Holmgren also formed the original Storage Product Group at Sun and grew it into a major strategic business for the company. She graduated with highest honors with a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo and a Masters in Business Administration from Stanford University.
