On behalf of the trade magazine Broadcast Engineering a panel of independent judges, consisting of industry professionals, awarded innovative technologies during the show.

Hanover/Las Vegas. At NAB 2013 the DVS Media Production Hub was not only been welcomed by clients, users and the journalists, but also by a panel of independent judges as well. Working professionals in the broadcast, post, network and satellite industries, appointed by the Broadcast Engineering, were enthusiastic about the Media Production Hub's innovative technology. VENICE received the Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award in the category "Video Server". The magazine's renowned awards are the industry's longest-running new product technology awards and acknowledge substantial technology improvement.

The Media Production Hub VENICE unites classic video server functionalities with intelligent, future-proof features for file-based studio production. Versatility and ease of integration into existing workflows are at the heart of the Media Production Hub's design: It is available in multiple versions with different chassis heights, channel numbers and internal storage capacities. At NAB 2013 DVS presented VENICE with an extended product portfolio: As a custom-tailored, budget-oriented entrylevel solution VENICE Element is tailored specifically to meet the needs of live studio operation and playout. The Media Production Hub's user interface has been optimized and the design made more ergonomic. Users will be impressed by its straightforward operating guidance, which supports them by giving immediate access to all key functions even in hectic live broadcast operations. By supporting and permanently enhancing up-to-date protocols and communication standards VENICE simplifies the exchange of material at TV stations and thus accelerates their production workflows. VENICE is one of the first systems to natively use the FIMS services "Capture" and "Transform".

Niklas Fabian, Product Manager at DVS: "We are delighted about this prestigious award since it emphasizes the high degree of innovation our system offers. VENICE has exquisitely positioned itself in the TV production environment. Our Media Production Hub's flexibility allows broadcasters to use it in a variety of ways and it facilitates the implementation of file-based workflows."
