Dewitt, NY - The Third Quarter 2010 issue of The MHEDA Journal (http://www.TheMhedaJournal.org), the leading online magazine for the forklift, conveyor, storage & handling, and general material handling equipment industries, spotlights Bode Equipment Company, a storage & handling equipment distributor in Londonderry, New Hampshire.

Bode Equipment Company has been in business since 1975 and sells pallet rack, mezzanines, safety equipment and other allied material handling products. President Steve Fawcett runs the day-to-day business along with his wife, Pat, and son, Scott. Beginning in 2011, Scott will assume the role of president. It's part of a formal succession plan that Fawcett and his family have had in place for several years. As the company reaches its 35th year in business - and 25th under Fawcett's ownership - Steve Fawcett sat down with 2007 MHEDA President John Cosgrove, president of Atlantic Handling Systems in Fair Lawn, NJ, to discuss how Bode Equipment has evolved over its history and what to expect going forward.

The two spoke about strategic planning, employee retention, working in a family business, company goals, rebounding from a down economy and more. In describing his company's future, Fawcett says, "The need for forklifts, conveyor systems and storage & handling equipment of all types is ongoing. As those sales and purchases of our equipment start to increase with the recovery and economy, everybody who survived the recession is going to start a new era of growth. As long as distributors offer value-added service, we'll all be back in a growth pattern very soon."
