Guildford, UK - Avaya Inc., a global leader in business communications
applications, software and services, today announced the appointment of
Martyn Lambert to Vice President of Marketing for Europe, Middle East
and Africa (EMEA). A veteran Avaya marketing leader, Lambert is tasked
with raising Avaya's profile across the entire region through strong,
customer- and partner-focused marketing campaigns and will lead the
aligned product, program and campaign organization.

Lambert will report to Avaya's Chief Marketing Officer, Jocelyne Attal,
and to Carlos Sartorius, President, Avaya EMEA.

Lambert joined Avaya in January 2004 and has played a key role in the
development of Avaya's latest software releases, and has helped secure
several large customer successes. In this role, he is reprising his
earlier successes within EMEA and will help to bring Avaya's EMEA
marketing to a new level. Prior to working with Avaya, he held executive
positions within other multinational technology companies, including
Dell Computers and Sun Microsystems.

"Avaya continues to evolve its intelligent communications solutions for
customers; these provide unprecedented access to business-critical
information," said Lambert. "Our goal is to spotlight the true business
value Avaya offers, and to that end my organization will provide the
market thrust for region-wide campaigns that will help promote awareness
of Avaya and the unique hardware, software and services offerings we
have for EMEA companies."

"We are pleased to have a leader of Martyn's calibre at the helm of our
integrated EMEA marketing programs," said Carlos Sartorius, President,
Avaya EMEA. "This is an exciting time for Avaya, which is rapidly
growing its presence in EMEA with business-critical software and
services that help companies gain and maintain competitive advantage."
