Manufacturers: Affordable Energy Will Create Jobs

Legislation Will Boost Domestic Production, Enhancing Competitiveness

Washington, D.C. - National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Senior Vice President of Policy and Government Relations Aric Newhouse issued this statement in support of the Domestic Energy and Jobs Act, H.R. 4480:

"Manufacturers use one-third of the energy consumed in the United States, making access to affordable energy critical to their survival and competitiveness. The Domestic Energy and Jobs Act will increase our nation's energy production, which will lower energy costs and create manufacturing jobs.

It's time for a real 'all of the above' energy strategy that includes all available energy sources, as well as creating infrastructure projects like the Keystone XL pipeline. With 8.2 percent unemployment, we have a chance to expand our domestic energy production and create desperately needed jobs for American workers. Now is the time to do so."
