Mahr Federal to Unveil Its New MMQ 200 Cylindricity Measuring Machine at MD&M East
PROVIDENCE, RI -- Mahr Federal will be featuring its new MMQ 200 Cylindricity Measuring Machine at MD&M East, June 9-11, 2009, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Mahr Federal will occupy booth #2461.
The MMQ 200 Formtester extends the capability of Mahr Federal's innovative MMQ Formtester line, and is optimized for measuring cylindricity and other deviations of form and position. Equipped with Mahr's newest EasyForm Version 3 Software, the MMQ 200 is compact, fast, very easy to learn and operate, and is equally at home in the metrology lab or on the shop floor.
The intuitive user interface of the MMQ 200's EasyForm 3 Software guides users through measurement setup and operation. EasyForm's teach-in mode remembers every step taken and can easily combine steps to perform multi-feature measurements. Up to 32 measuring routines can be saved for automatic operation via function keys. For example, a roundness measurement can be taken with just two steps.
In addition, Mahr Federal will feature its air gaging systems at MD&M. Air gaging has increasingly become the inspection tool of choice for controlling the critical parameters of taper and size in the manufacture of orthopedic devices. Most hip and knee implants use tapers because they provide good alignment and they can be "locked" into position. In manufacturing these devices, the control of taper and size determines how well the implants perform over their lifetime.
Also on display at the Mahr Federal booth will be the MarSurf® XCR 20, which combines two high precision measuring systems into one, enabling both roughness and contour measurements to be taken on the same unit and with the same setup. Moderately priced with systems starting at under $20,000, the combined MarSurf XCR measuring station incorporates drive units from the MarSurf XR 20 roughness and XC 20 contour systems, so there is no need to change the drive unit or probe when changing the measurement task from Roughness to Contour.
