Biannual meeting will be held November 14-16, 2011 in Tampa, FL. Formed in 1903, ASTM Committee A06 oversees ~50 standards dealing with magnetic materials and magnetic properties. Through its 5 subcommittees, A06 develops variety of test methods and materials specifications.

Stakeholders Welcome to Attend
W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.-ASTM International Committee A06 on Magnetic Properties welcomes the participation of all stakeholders with an interest in the development of international standards for magnetic materials and magnetic properties. The committee will hold its biannual meeting this fall.
ASTM Committee A06, which was formed in 1903, oversees approximately 50 standards dealing with magnetic materials and magnetic properties. Through its five subcommittees, A06 develops test methods for determining the magnetic properties of electrical steels, permanent magnet materials and soft ferrites. It also develops materials specifications for electrical steels, high coercivity permanent magnets and Mn-Zn soft ferrites. One of A06's subcommittees, A06.94, is the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to the International Electrotechnical Commission's Technical Committee 68 on Magnetic Alloys and Steels.
The committee has more than 50 members, and it meets twice a year, usually in May and November. A06 will hold its next meeting on Nov. 14-16, 2011, at the Tampa Marriott Waterside in Tampa, Fla. Membership in ASTM International is not required to attend the meetings.
