Cologne - From now on, POSITAL's new MAGNETOCODE (MCD) encoders are also available as cost-efficient models featuring an integrated draw wire adapter. The units serve to measure linear distances in machine building or instrument engineering applications and can also be employed in medical engi-neering. The cable pull adapter provides a 1.2 m measuring range and is encased in a plastic housing measuring 56 x 46 x 21 mm. Drum and spring are flanged directly to the encoder, which results in a highly compact design. The robust stainless steel cable is coated with polyamide. The resolution of the measuring system is 30 micrometers per step. The contact-free measuring sensor stage of the MCD Sensor didn't have any abrasion. So in comparison with potentiometer based sensor stages, the linearity remains stable even after 1 Million measuring cycles. The Sensors can be connected via standard serial SSI interface or via CANopen bus interface.
