MSC improved its ranking to 189 from 202 in the 2008 list.

To create the list, Forbes examined companies in 26 industries with at least $1 billion in revenue, and ranked them according to earnings growth, corporate practices, long- and short-term sales and stock market performance. After compiling the data, the magazine's writers and editors selected the best-managed company in each industry.
