New Server Offers High Performance in an Affordable, Compact Form Factor
NAMPA, Idaho, Nov. 15 -- MPC Computers, a wholly owned subsidiary of HyperSpace Communications, Inc. (AMEX:HCO), today announced the new NetFRAME 1420 server, which offers the latest server technology at an affordable price. The NetFRAME 1420 features hot-swap SATA II hard drives and DDR2 memory, and provides small- to medium-sized businesses and government agencies with a cost-effective solution in a 1U rack-mountable form factor. The system also features support for dual core processor technology, which incorporates two processing units into a single processor chip. The NetFRAME 1420, powered by Supermicro, is designed to increase performance in the single processor configuration, especially when running multiple applications.
This new server also features system improvements such as a dual gigabit network interface, PCI Express technology, and LANDesk's Server Management Software. The dual gigabit network interface enables high network bandwidth, while PCI Express technology increases performance with over 3.5 times more bandwidth than previous PCI slots. The NetFRAME 1420's LANDesk Server Management Software offers an easy-to-use interface to manage all of the clients within an IT environment from a single administrative console.

Standard Service & Support
The NetFRAME 1420 server includes three years of on-site service, replacement parts and technical support as part of the standard configuration, with optional extensions for up to five years. In addition, three Network Operating System (NOS) support resolutions are also included with every standard server limited warranty, when a preinstalled server operating system is purchased.
Optional Services
Two, Four or Eight Hour On-site Service
Two, Four or Eight Hour On-site Service provides for mission-critical repair service at a customer's location. The necessary replacement parts will be shipped to meet the on-site technician within two, four or eight hours of being dispatched (depending on the customer's location). This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for eligible customers.
Hard Drive Protection Plan
This service allows customers to replace a failed hard drive while still protecting confidential data stored on the drive. MPC will ship a replacement hard drive, and the customer need only return an RMA form provided by MPC.
