MOCON Partners with Meyer to Establish Certified Sales/Service Locations in Canada

Minneapolis – MOCON, Inc. (NASDAQ: MOCO) has partnered with Meyer Service and Supply Ltd., Long Sault, Ont., Canada to establish two certified service locations for Canadian customers.
Meyer has converting existing space at its headquarters into a new 3,000 sq. ft. service laboratory. A second service facility is located in Brantford, Ont.
The new partnership means that Canadian customers no longer need to import replacement parts or send MOCON brand instrumentation to the United States for service. Initially, Meyer will be servicing MOCON’s PAC-CHECK® headspace (oxygen and carbon dioxide) instruments used for quality control of modified atmosphere packages.
“In our effort to improve support for customers in other countries, we have established several ‘local’ certified service locations. This new partnership will allow our Canadian customers to avoid import/export costs and shorten the service timeline,” explains Rich Barrett, regional manager, MOCON. “Because the service technicians at Meyer have received the same level of training that we provide at our own MOCON laboratories, customers can be assured that their instruments will be receiving first-rate service.”
For the past 15-plus years, Meyer also has provided sales and service for MOCON’s Dansensor package testing business unit. This includes quality control instruments for modified atmosphere gas packages, as well as in-line gas blenders and leak detectors. In mid-2013, Meyer also began selling MOCON instrumentation to Canadian customers.
“As a result of this new partnership, we will now have five trained service professionals on our team. That will allow us to perform either onsite or laboratory service, depending on the instrument type and location. We are pleased to be able to expand our relationship with the MOCON family of products,” said John Meyer, president.
