Material Handling Scholarship Winners

The MHEDA Journal features recipients of honored material handling students.

Dewitt, NY - The Fourth Quarter 2009 issue of The MHEDA Journal, the leading online magazine for the forklift, storage and handling, and general material handling equipment industries, recognizes two material handling and logistics students who received Honor Scholarships from the Material Handling Education Foundation Inc. (MHEFI).

MHEFI is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to encouraging and supporting material handling education. In 2009, the Foundation distributed more than $95,000 to 32 students in material handling-related fields. Each year, the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA) gives money to deserving students in material handling programs across the United States.

This year's recipients of MHEDA's scholarship are Seth Hostetler and Kyle Bowen. Hostetler, a Penn State University doctoral student, plans to become a professor of material handling logistics. Hostetler enjoys material handling because "There are so many different solutions to the same type of problems, allowing for some creativity and fresh ideas."

Bowen, a senior at East Carolina University, has aspirations to a career as a distribution manager after completing his obligation to the U.S. Army. He says, "Material handling is so broad with many intricate details, and being the best requires a strong desire and commitment to learn and adapt and become knowledgeable."

MHEDA extends congratulations to these worthy students and all who are studying material handling industry-related curricula.
