MDS iNET-II provides energy companies with long-range, industrial performance at megabit speed

ENTELEC 2006 CONFERENCE & EXPO, HOUSTON (April 19, 2006) - Microwave Data Systems (MDS), a world leader in industrial, wireless, networking solutions with applications in the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), automation, telecommunications, public safety, and online transactional markets, today introduced to the oil and gas industry, the newest addition to its family of Ethernet radios.

The MDS iNET-II provides speeds of greater than one megabit per second and provides excellent receiver sensitivity; this translates into significantly higher speed and longer range than traditional wireless LAN devices. This enables you to monitor and control mission-critical information and bring revenue-generating data on to the network-in real time. The MDS iNET-II can also be used to provide mobile network access and images.

"The iNET-II raises the bar in industrial radios by doubling the speed of our best-selling iNET radios," said MDS Networking Product Manager Arturo Herrera. "It is not only a faster radio, but it now incorporates the option of AES-128 bit encryption in addition to the already strong MDS Security Suite offered in other MDS networking radios, such as the iNET and the entraNET."

The iNET-II's industrial features enable it to perform under the harshest of environments and make it better prepared to survive in conditions where most commercial-grade radios cannot.
