ENTELEC 2006 CONFERENCE & EXPO, HOUSTON (April 19, 2006) - Microwave Data Systems (MDS), a world leader in industrial, wireless, networking solutions with applications in the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), automation, telecommunications, public safety, and online transactional markets, today introduced its first broadband-speed, wireless solution.
MDS Mercury 900TM is the company's latest solution for both fixed and mobile applications and provides wireless connectivity between the corporate network, fleet vehicles, well sites and compressors-at adaptive data rates approaching 12 Mbps.
Based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), the MDS Mercury features high speed/low latency, Quality of Service (QoS), Ethernet and serial encapsulation, and network roaming. It also provides enhanced security including AES encryption and RADIUS authentication, making the MDS Mercury the best combination of security, range and speed of any industrial wireless solution on the market today.
