Federal Aviation Administration Benefits from Security Events Identified by Lumeta IPsonar and Managed through ArcSight Product Suite

SOMERSET, N.J., Feb. 6-- Lumeta, the leading provider of network assurance solutions for enterprises and government agencies, today announced that it has successfully integrated Lumeta IPsonar® data into the ArcSight Product Suite. Joint customers will benefit by having IPsonar discover additional security events, for example previously unknown network connectivity and improperly configured network defenses, automatically reported into ArcSight products.

The Lumeta IPsonar connector allows customers to run IPsonar scans and automatically integrate the discovered hosts, routers, leaking devices and open service ports into the ArcSight Product Suite. The suite enables customers to easily correlate events discovered by IPsonar according to their business rules, prioritizes the list of threats, provides context-sensitive detail, and mitigates network security risks. The joint solution accelerates remediation, reducing cost and risk while providing an additional level of intelligence and prioritization for all detected threats.

The Federal Aviation Administration assisted in the development of this integration as an early trial customer, and will be among the first to benefit. The agency was attracted by the opportunity to bring Lumeta's unique data into the ArcSight Produce Suite to create an advanced network threat assessment solution.

"The new Lumeta IPsonar connector provides our customers with valuable additional information about their network," said Hugh Njemanze, CTO and executive vice president of research and development, ArcSight. "The ArcSight Product Suite analyzes and correlates information from a wide range of different sources, producing a comprehensive view of a customer's IT security, performance and compliance posture. IPsonar events add a unique layer of information to the ArcSight view."

IPsonar discovers every asset on a network, including assets not currently under management, visualizes the connectivity between assets and networks to uncover risk patterns and policy weaknesses, and enables network and security teams to bring unknown assets under management while deploying security technology more effectively to mitigate risk. Using IPsonar, IT organizations can deploy new business services, maintain existing service levels and minimize network security risk to ensure compliant operations.

"Our network assurance solution measures the effectiveness of security policies and controls in a dynamic infrastructure, while at the same time discovering the complete picture of network connectivity -- these unique capabilities are a perfect addition to the leading security information and event management platform from ArcSight," said Michael Markulec, executive vice president, technology and operations, Lumeta. "The ability to prioritize threats is critical for managing the networks of today's organizations. By providing the network perspective, our joint solution enables clients to remediate risks that were previously unknown or very challenging to uncover."
