Lucifer Furnaces Supplies Tool Rooms with Red Devil Space-Saving Furnaces

Lucifer Furnaces recently shipped 5 Red Devil Dual Chamber Space-Saving RD8-KHE24 models to tool rooms across North America – from Canada to Mexico.  Lucifer's Red Devil economy models are built for energy efficient high performance with customer return on investment in mind.   An upper hardening chamber, reaching 2200°F, is stacked above a tempering oven which heats to 1200°F.  Both chambers are sized at 12" high x 14" wide x 24" long and are insulated with 4 inches of lightweight firebrick and mineral wool.  The firebrick is precision dry fit with staggered seams for reduced heat loss while allowing for thermal expansion resulting in lower maintenance costs.  Long lasting low watt density heating elements in easy-to-replace side wall panels provide uniform heating.  These Red Devil models come standard with insulated horizontal swing doors with cam locks for a tight seal, and safety microswitches to shut off power when doors are opened. Vertical lift doors and over-temperature safety systems are popular options.

Ceramic hearth plates support a work load up to 25 lb/sq ft of hearth and serve to protect the floor brick.  A high volume cfm recirculating fan is mounted in the rear of the tempering oven for horizontal air flow providing uniform heat for stress relief and other applications. The furnace and oven chambers are individually controlled with Honeywell digital time proportioning controllers mounted in a NEMA 1 panel on the side of the furnace away from the hot loading area.  A general purpose hardening furnace along with a tempering oven are essentials of tool rooms across industries in order to perform a variety of metal heat treating.
