Press release date: July 18, 2012

Stockwell Elastomerics now offers a broad range of Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) materials as molded gaskets, sheets and custom components. The available durometer hardnesses range from 10 to 70 durometer Shore A. A free Touch Brochure featuring LSR material samples is now available online at http://www.stockwell.com/LSRTouch.

Philadelphia, PA- Stockwell Elastomerics announces the availability of their new Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) Touch Brochure that includes samples of seven different liquid silicone rubber materials for tactile inspection. This brochure is created to assist designers specifying gaskets and cushioning components for waterproof enclosures and portable devices such as scanners, meters, sensors and testing devices where ruggedization is required. Portable devices are frequently required to pass water ingress requirements such as IP65, IP66 and IP67. Custom molded liquid silicone rubber gaskets are frequently specified to solve such design issues, and Stockwell Elastomerics is a leading manufacturer of these LSR components.

Liquid silicone rubber compounds are available from on-site inventory in 10 through 70 durometer Shore A to enable quick response production/shipment. The two-part uncured liquid silicone compounds are typically pigmented black or light gray during our molding process for most industrial applications. However, translucent (un-pigmented), white and approximately 20 other colors are available.

Stockwell Elastomerics also injection molds 12" x 12" liquid silicone rubber sheets in 10 through 70 durometer. Standard thicknesses (.032", .050", .062", .093" and .125") are in inventory and available to support requirements for die cut, water jet cut and adhesive backed gaskets. Customers can request a free LSR "Touch Brochure" with small samples of these cured liquid silicone products to touch and feel the material. The Liquid Silicone Rubber Touch Brochure can be requested online at: http://www.stockwell.com/LSRTouch.

"Our on-site molding facility and capability to mold liquid silicone rubber gaskets and sheets enables Stockwell Elastomerics to approach design solutions using several production methods", said Stockwell Elastomerics' President Bill Stockwell. "We are the only US-based rubber components manufacturer providing on-site liquid injection molding, die cutting, water jet cutting and adhesive lamination. Our job is to leverage this broad range of on-site capabilities for prototyping and initial production to assist designers of technology devices to pass rigorous performance requirements."

Along with Stockwell Elastomerics' liquid injection molding capabilities, the company also compression molds specialty elastomers such as electrically conductive silicone and fluorosilicone, peroxide cure and platinum cure gum based silicones and specification grade fluorosilicones. Molded components are typically cryogenically de-flashed.
