Lincoln Electric Expands Marketing Department


Cleveland - Lincoln Electric, the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of arc welding products, has expanded its corporate marketing department with three new additions.

Peter Baka joins Lincoln as marketing communications manager, responsible for directing and managing the company's strategic marketing efforts, including brand communications, advertising, public relations, Web-based initiatives, market research and trade shows management.

Baka brings 15 years of national and international marketing and sales management experience to his new role. His background includes serving as business development manager for GED Integrated Systems, national trade show sales manager for Advanstar Communications and marketing manager for Swagelok Co. Baka earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Ohio University and an MBA from Baldwin Wallace College.

David Snyder and Jennifer Knauf have been promoted to product managers. Snyder will manage product planning and marketing for Lincoln's line of welding guns, while Knauf has responsibility for the company's alloy consumable products, including stainless steel, nickel and hardfacing consumables.

Snyder has been with Lincoln Electric for 11 years, most recently as a senior buyer, engines. Prior to that, he was a manufacturing engineer. He holds a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering from Monmouth University and an MBA from Tampa College.

Knauf spent the last four years as a technical sales representative based in Lincoln's Memphis, Tenn., district sales office. She earned her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and master's degree in engineering management from Case Western Reserve University.
