SMART GRID SOLUTION FEATURED AT DISTRIBUTECH CONFERENCE, FEBRUARY 3-5
PITTSBURGH, Feb. 3 / / - Tollgrade Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:TLGD), a leading supplier of service assurance test products and solutions, announced that the first release of its LightHouse(TM) distribution grid monitoring system is now generally available. Availability of the new sensor technology coincides with the power distribution industry's annual DistribuTECH Conference & Exhibition, which is being held in San Diego, Feb. 3-5, 2009.
Tollgrade officials will be displaying its new centralized remote monitoring system to improve service delivery for power utility operations and efficiency of electric grid systems at Booth #2239 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Tollgrade's LightHouse solution is designed to provide real-time grid intelligence by using sensors that continuously monitor key circuit parameters while transmitting data over a wireless network to a central location, thus reducing time of detecting a problem on the grid, identifying its location and restoring service.
"We have recently completed development of the first LightHouse release and are pleased that it has achieved general availability," said Joseph Ferrara, President and CEO of Tollgrade. "This smart grid solution remains in active trials with multiple electric utilities, and we have a number of trials planned with customers and partners in the coming quarters," added Ferrara.
