For the life of your weights, Troemner will assure you that if any Troemner Alloy 8 Stainless Steel weight is discovered to contain magnetic properties, it will be replaced with an equivalent, NEW Alloy 8 Stainless Steel weight at no charge. Simply send us your weight for calibration and if the weight does not meet the magnetic properties requirements of ANSI/ASTM E617 or OIML R111, it will be replaced with a new weight at no charge. Troemner Alloy 8 Stainless Steel is a significantly harder steel than previously used in the manufacture of weights. Not only does this mean that your weight is less susceptible to wear and scratches and less likely to lose enough mass to carry it out of its adjusted tolerance, but it also means that it is more likely to maintain extremely low magnetic properties. This is important because the magnetic field of the weight can react with the balances' magnetic field causing calibration errors. Troemner also utilizes a gaussmeter to measure the magnetic field of Alloy 8 Stainless Steel weights and a susceptometer to measure the susceptibility of the weights to become magnetized, both as another means of assuring you that your weights are of the highest quality and accuracy available. By sending your Troemner Alloy 8 Stainless Steel weights to Troemner for calibration, you can be assured that your weights continue to maintain extremely low magnetic properties and if not, we will replace any affected weights at no charge.
