Press release date: November 2, 2009

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (Nov. 2, 2009) - Legrand/Pass & Seymour recently spearheaded the donation of an innovative Legrand electrical wiring device for an episode of the Emmy-nominated television series, ASK THIS OLD HOUSE®. The Legrand Selective Call System was included in episode #802, which premiered Oct. 15 on PBS.

The hit television series, a companion series of THIS OLD HOUSE® enables homeowners to receive an in-person "house" call, providing solutions to their everyday household challenges.

"With the popularity of home remodeling shows, this presented a great opportunity to demonstrate how electrical enhancements can make a home more energy-efficient, enjoyable, and safer for everyone living inside," said Keith Falkenberg, product manager at Legrand/Pass & Seymour. "We're thrilled to be involved with such a worthwhile project."

Inspired by color and design trends from around the world, the Selective Call System seamlessly blends technology with design. Its sculptural curves, featuring titanium edging and a screwless finish, allow homeowners to integrate technology with personal style and taste.

Enabling broadcast or room-to-room communication at the touch of a button, Selective Call can accommodate up to 32 locations and three simultaneous, private conversations - the only intercom in the industry to do so. It eliminates the need for a main console, allowing complete system control from any room unit.

Users can choose from 96 room names, such as "nursery" or "great room," and up to 20 built-in digital door tones. The easy-to-use interface ensures complete system personalization and lists room names according to the most frequently called locations.

Selective Call's installation is simple and efficient. Just run a single Cat 5 cable from the enclosure to each Selective Call unit, and plug it into an RJ45 connection.
