Leading Database for Both Windows and Mac - Now a Universal Application - to be Featured at Over 50 Apple Stores Nationwide
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 9 / - FileMaker Pro 8.5, will be demonstrated live by FileMaker experts in over 50 Apple U.S. retail stores throughout this month and next, FileMaker announced today (for store listings and further details go to filemaker.com/news/business_days).
Beginning users and those already familiar with FileMaker Pro will learn about managing and sharing information using the new features in FileMaker Pro 8.5 ( http://filemaker.com/products/fmp/ ), which shipped from FileMaker in July.
As effortlessly as you can bookmark a web page in your browser, a live web page can now be added to a database record using the new Web Viewer Control in FileMaker Pro 8.5. Database information can now be linked to related up-to-the minute information on the Internet. Examples include street maps based on a customer address field, shipping status based on a shipment tracking number, pricing for a manufacturers part number, or the latest news based on a company name.
The new product line, which includes FileMaker Pro 8.5, FileMaker Pro 8.5 Advanced, FileMaker Server 8.0v4 and FileMaker Server 8.0v4 Advanced all feature new Universal Application support and run on Mac OS X on Intel-based Macs delivering up to 116% faster performance vs. running on Power PC, based on the company's benchmark testing (for FileMaker Pro 8.5, go to http://filemaker.com/products/fmp/universal_app.html and for FileMaker Server 8.0 v4 go to http://www.filemaker.com/products/fms/benchmark.html ).
