Leading Position Confirmed in Sustainability Ranking

For the fourth time in a row, Henkel has been recognized as sector leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) and the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index (DJSI Europe). Henkel took again first place in the Non-durable Household Products category and is the sole company of its sector in the DJSI World and DJSI Europe. The indices list corporations that follow the principles of sustainable development in their business operations.

Henkel is dedicated to sustainability and corporate social responsibility, as once again confirmed by its renewed inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe in the Non-durable Household Products category. Only 10 percent of the world's largest corporations make the grade for selection in the DJSI World, a ranking that the agency SAM Indexes GmbH has compiled for over 10 years now.

"We are absolutely delighted to have once again been so successful in this internationally renowned sustainability listing," says Kasper Rorsted, Chairman of the Henkel Management Board. "It shows that we do far more than just talk about sustainability - for us it is a principle that is utterly integral to our corporate philosophy and actions as a company. Sustainability is one of the salient features of Henkel. And we intend to further expand the leading role that we have assumed in this domain."

Henkel's performance in this field has repeatedly been adjudged as excellent by numerous national and international ranking agencies. At the last Davos economic forum, for example, "Corporate Knights" - a specialist magazine dedicated to sustainable development and CSR - presented a list of the 100 most sustainable companies in the world, Henkel was the second best German company and took 11th position overall. This was followed in March by the company's inclusion in the list of the World's Most Ethical Companies. That ranking, prepared by the US Ethisphere Institute, recognizes companies from around the world for their exemplary ethical corporate governance and commitment to sustainable development. Henkel is the only company domiciled in Germany to be listed in the WME.
