Leading Chinese Utility-Metering Company Howdeep Chooses Coronis Systems For Wireless AMR Solutions

HowDeep Tech Co. Ltd, a leading provider of individual, commercial, and industrial utility-metering solutions in China, has selected France-based Coronis Systems to provide their wireless solutions for gas metering. This is the first large-scale industrial contract in China for Coronis. The contract's initial phase involves equipping 50,000 residences in Yichang, China, with a wireless, automatic meter-reading (AMR) system.

Under the terms of this agreement, Coronis will provide its patented ultra low-power Wavenis® long-range wireless technology to enable remote monitoring of the 50,000-node gas meter network, which also uses Wavenis®-enabled network infrastructure, wireless meter monitors, software, and customizable wireless modules. The technology has satisfied HowDeep's system-integration requirements with its field-proven industrial maturity, modularity, pricing, near real-time accuracy, and adaptability to the Chinese market.

This partnership underlines HowDeep's commitment to enhance its portfolio of DT-Readers® automatic meter- reading solutions with innovative technology. By choosing Coronis' AMR solutions, HowDeep can improve the precision and efficiency of its systems while enhancing customer service. In addition to providing bidirectional network technology that specifically addresses the autonomy and range constraints found in metering installations, the Coronis solution will help HowDeep offer its customers added-value benefits such as leak detection, data logging and valve control, and other features to help meet evolving requirements.

"The fact that a European company was the best choice for this project is a very significant act in China's metering field. It not only proves our own company's business strategy, but it also highlights the global nature of market requirements for AMR solutions," says Olivier Guilbaud, president of Coronis Systems. The company recently opened a new office in Chicago to support its innovative approach to AMR systems in North American markets directly.
