Press release date: May 1, 2012

Polymax Elastomer Technology Co., Ltd., a leading international TPE producer, announces at this NPE 2012 that the company is taking aggressive steps toward selecting sites and determining plant opening dates for a new TPE production facility in North America. Dates and timing for the site selection and plant opening were not given.

Polymax Elastomer Technology Co., Ltd. is one of China's leading producers of TPEs and TPRs (thermoplastic elastomers and thermoplastic rubbers). They have been selling their brand of Maxelast® TPEs in North America both directly and through their exclusive distributor, Alliance Polymers and Services, LLC (in Romulus, MI) for several years. Maxelast TPEs are currently being used in products being manufactured by leading US and international firms including Buick, Chrysler, Stanley Tools, Nike, Adidas, Nokia, Puma, VW, Behr, Samsung and Kia, among many others.

As they move toward final stages for financing, Polymax officials note they are looking at possible manufacturing locations in Illinois, No. and So. Carolina and Michigan. Personnel needs are expected to start at around 10-20 employees and are forecast to grow as the firm's customer base continues to expand. The new production facility will increase their worldwide capacity by 20% or more.

According to Dr. Y Martin Lu, Principal of Polymax and the former chief technical manager of a leading US TPE producer, "We're excited about this new opportunity to offer from a US production base our popular Maxelast SEBS and SBS based thermoplastic elastomers throughout North America. The strong sales and technical resources of our North American partner, Alliance Polymers and Services, promise to give OEMs designers a bigger and broader choice of TPEs and quality technical service than ever before. APS offers a broad range of warehousing, specialty compounding, laboratory, sales and technical support services."

Stephane Morin, Principal at Alliance Polymers and Services, comments, "The startup of the new Maxelast TPE production facility will vastly increase the choice of formulations almost immediately available to our growing customer base where we sell a variety of soft elastomers. We stand apart from our, and Maxelast TPE, competitors by providing quality, and experienced, technical customer service. We encourage any user of elastomers to contact us for their modest or mundane to most challenging product selection or molding challenges. Based on this news from Polymax, we are seeking more sales and technical service personnel across the North American continent."

World headquarters of privately-held Polymax Elastomer Technology Co., Ltd. is in the city of Nantong, China, near Shanghai. Principals as well as key technical personnel at the firm have earned doctorate degrees from leading American and Chinese universities. Manufacturing in China to serve markets in the Far East, Australia and Europe as well as specialized laboratories are in new, state of the art facilities. Alliance Polymers and Services, LLC (APS) is a leading U.S. sales and service firm dedicated exclusively to providing products and technical support for soft elastomers including the Maxelast® line of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) and BASF line of Elastollan® brand of thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs). APS also offers compounding and laboratory services for TPEs.
