Lattice3D Reporter Publisher Combines Power of 3D Excel Spreadsheets With Automation in ERP/PLM Systems

San Francisco, CA.- Lattice Technology® Inc., the standard for technical communication and digital mock up software in the manufacturing enterprise, today released Lattice3D Reporter Publisher, as well as an update of its core Lattice3D Reporter software to ver 4.0.

Lattice3D Reporter Publisher combines the power of Lattice3D Reporter and the Template Option to enable automated batch creation of 3D Excel spreadsheets within an ERP/PLM system using pre-defined templates. These Excel spreadsheets are used by customers in both print and digital formats to provide easy access to comprehensive manufacturing, assembly, maintenance and support data. Lattice3D Reporter Publisher is a command-line tool tuned to fast, easy integration with existing workflows and IT infrastructures.

Lattice3D Reporter has been updated to ver. 4.0. This product is the core tool that enables 3D data, with related BOM, assembly, animation and annotation data, to be used in an Excel spreadsheet. Lattice3D Reporter now supports Windows 7 platforms.

The Template Option has also been updated to allow more detailed definition of 3D 'snapshots' which are automatically created in a spreadsheet from a 3D model, as well as allowing user-defined macros to be used in the spreadsheets. The Template Option is an application that works with Lattice3D Reporter to create 3D Excel spreadsheets on pre-defined templates simply by loading 3D data. These templates can automatically create spreadsheets for many purposes including: print and digital work and assembly instructions, digitally enhanced instructions with linked animations, 3D BOMs and more.

"The unique Lattice3D Reporter tools have been designed with the non-CAD user in mind, making them as easy to use as Microsoft Excel," said Bill Barnes, GM, Lattice Technology Inc. "The addition of Lattice3D Reporter Publisher means that the streamlined functionality the application brings can now be easily integrated into fully automated workflows ensuring that documents are created as soon as original design and parts list data is released or updated."

Lattice3D Reporter, Template Option and Lattice3D Reporter Publisher are part of a suite of software solutions that enable the rapid, easy and accurate creation of documentation for manufactured products. These solutions focus on bringing 3D automatically into documents in order to increase the level of comprehension, reducing learning curves and improving productivity in many areas of the manufacturing chain. In addition, automation and integration of the Lattice Technology Solutions allows high quality documentation and illustrations to be available to downstream users as soon as 3D data is released or updated, rather than lengthy waiting periods while a product or prototype is manufactured.
