Laser Mechanisms Announces Senior Management Restructuring


FARMINGTON HILLS, MI - Today Laser Mechanisms, Inc. President William G. Fredrick named Mark Taggart as Managing Director North American Operations. Taggart previously served as General Manager Medical Operations. Fredrick also named Glenn Golightly as Managing Director Pacific Rim Operations. Golightly previously held the position of General Manager Industrial Operations.

Taggart will immediately assume responsibility for the day to day management of both Laser Mechanisms' industrial and medical operations.

"Mark Taggart has seen and done it all in the laser industry and has a keen intellect on where the market is heading in the future," Fredrick said, "Taggart's dynamic, take-charge style made him the perfect choice to lead Laser Mechanisms as we enter into a period of rapid expansion."

Before joining Laser Mechanisms in 1989, Taggart, a native of Glasgow, Scotland, worked in various management positions for Surgilase, JMAR, Sharplan/Laser Industries and Ceramoptec. Taggart has held the position of General Manager Medical Operations since 2001 and previously served as Laser Mechanisms' Medical Manufacturing Manager.

As Managing Director Pacific Rim Operations, Golightly will oversee all aspects of Laser Mechanisms' continued expansion within the region and spearhead the opening of new offices in Shanghai, China.

Golightly joined Laser Mechanisms in 1989 as a Sales Engineer and has since served in a number of management positions. He has served as Laser Mechanisms' General Manager Industrial Operations since 2001. He is a native of Michigan and a 1978 graduate of Wayne State University.
