Milacron, Inc.
4165 Half Acre Rd.
Batavia, OH, 45103
USA

Press release date: April 13, 2006

April 13, 2006 -Milacron's 24,748 sq ft (2300 m2) booth, located at Stand No. 1702 in the South Hall at McCormick Place, will once more dominate the NPE Show with market- specific solutions for virtually every segment of plastics processing, including injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, mold components and aftermarket equipment and services. In addition to exhibits of machinery and tooling, Milacron will place special emphasis on aftermarket capabilities with a dedicated exhibit called the Aftermarket Center that will showcase equipment services, packages and components offered by Milacron. Many of the company's machine controls, including the new Mosaic control, will also be available for "test drives" in the Milacron Technology Center, as well as on machines running at the show.

"Milacron has always been an innovator at NPE shows," said Director of Marketing Bob Strickley. "At the last show we conducted remote telecasts of large tonnage machines in actual production and for this show we're keeping a few cards up our sleeve. In all cases, we'll be demonstrating solid applications aimed at showing processors ways to increase competitiveness by producing better quality products with reduced labor content and machinery."

Plans for the Cincinnati Milacron injection-molding exhibit include machinery demonstrating value-driven applications for the medical, automotive, consumer goods, closure, and packaging industries. Value added "between the tie rods" will be emphasized on various electric and hydraulic injection molding machines, with multicomponent applications figuring prominently. The company will demonstrate new machine models and capabilities, with all exhibits supported by Cincinnati Milacron automation and auxiliary equipment. "The injection machinery exhibit will have small and large tonnage machines that are all configured with 'must see' applications," Strickley added. "It all starts with the customer's part, and Milacron will be focused on the customer's demand for production systems that add value."

The Extrusion Systems Business will exhibit Cincinnati Milacron parallel and conical twin-screw extruders, plus specially coated replacement barrels and screws, a new barrel air-cooling system, a FACTS Systems microprocessor control and the new Mosaic control. The large extrusion exhibit will include a Cincinnati Milacron TP115-26 parallel twin-screw machine (115mm screws/26:1 L/D) featuring a pipe head and die set from Midwest. A TC86 conical twin-screw machine on display will be equipped with a Vinyl Tech fence profile die. Aftermarket and retrofit packages slated for display include gearbox and screw-oil manifold.

Uniloy Milacron plans to introduce breakthrough technology for reciprocating blow molding machines aimed at extended-shelf-life dairy packaging. Uniloy will also exhibit advances in injection blow molding technology for the medical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Structural Foam applications will be exhibited, along with new suction blow-molding applications for automotive components. In addition, Uniloy will demonstrate a B&W shuttle blow molding machine in cooperation with FGH at that company's booth (No. 1309). With a strong emphasis on package development and manufacturing, Uniloy will have exhibits highlighting its mold design and manufacture, prototyping and pre-production capabilities.

D-M-E will showcase several new products in the areas of hot runner systems and mold components, as well as provide attendees with an opportunity to market their businesses through a new industry resource that will be available at www.dme.net. D-M-E's applications experts will be on site to assist with any questions and offer solutions.

The D-M-E display will be a discrete and significant part of the Milacron exhibit, continuing the focus on solutions for global customers.

The Milacron Aftermarket Center will exhibit the capabilities of many business units, including the ServTek service parts operation, Contract Services, Uniloy, Extrusion and DME. ServTek plans to exhibit its exclusive new BARR VBET® and ET® feedscrews, as well as its WearStar and KlearStar screws. Other aftermarket displays will highlight retrofit injection units, machine rebuilds, mold services, training services and other capabilities aimed at improving the performance of existing machines, regardless of original equipment manufacturer.

The Milacron Technology Center will feature hard engineering displays that link the design of processing equipment to the science of producing a given part. Among the displays will be large and small machinery cutaways and models for hands-on review by visitors. The displays will provide processors the elements of design differentiation in equipment selection and specification. The link of the design of machinery to actual parts will be demonstrated.

Milacron's new global control, the Mosaic, is being shown for the first time in North America. The new control will be standard on injection machines and optional on extrusion machines. Demonstration panels for the control will be featured in the Technology Center. The new Mosaic control's operator panel is all-sealed, with an embedded operating system that requires no hard-disc drive or back-up power source. It has extensive capabilities for connectivity and security, with Ethernet LAN and Powerlink, dual USB ports, ID card reader, and web-based or network access to process data and machine status. The 15-inch touchscreen display includes standard multilingual and inch/metric support, setup wizards and a single-page overview of all critical set points.

"Milacron is a customer-focused company that has reconfigured itself to compete in a shifting global market," Strickley added. "Visitors to our booth will find their investment in time with Milacron productive and profitable. We will have the staff on site to match the exciting new technologies. We are energized about the possibilities for the industry and for our company at NPE 2006."
