Brings Seamless Integration to Company's AccessMyDevice Service; Adds SDK Enhancements and Modbus Protocol Support

Lantronix (NASDAQ: LTRX), a leading global provider of smart connectivity solutions that enable access to any device, anywhere, anytime, today released the next generation of its Evolution Operating System (OS). Evolution OS 5.2 brings open standards, extensible technologies and enterprise-grade networking security to a variety of Lantronix devices, including XPort Pro and EDS 1100/2100.

Providing the backbone for many of Lantronix' products, Evolution OS 5.2 uses industry-standard methods for configuration, communication and control to facilitate quick deployment. Evolution OS-based products are now compatible with AccessMyDevice, an enterprise-grade, Internet-centric solution that allows business and technology professionals to view, manage and control the data from virtually any device from a web browser or another machine.

"Our Evolution OS-based products are extremely popular with customers and this new version includes enhancements to the firmware that were developed as a direct result of customer feedback and demand," said Daryl Miller, vice president of engineering at Lantronix. "We're excited to release Evolution version 5.2 as it will immediately help our customers build powerful solutions that enable them to save time and money."

Additional new features in Evolution OS 5.2 include:

- Network stack enhancements in SNMP and DHCP - Enhanced logging and diagnostics for improved field support - Support for the Industrial Automation standard Modbus on XPort Pro and EDS1100/2100 products - Enterprise-grade networking security

The Software Development Kit (SDK) has also been updated. The SDK offers developers a flexible and sophisticated way to customize Evolution OS-based products.

Currently, Evolution 5.2 supports XPort Pro and EDS 1100/2100. Further products, including EDS4100, EDS 8/16/32 PR and EDS 8/16 PS, will be supported in Q1, 2011.

For customers looking to take advantage of the new capabilities immediately, the firmware and associated release notes are available for download from the Lantronix website: http://www.lantronix.com/support/downloads.html
