Laird Technologies to Exhibit Wireless Locomotive Remote Control Solutions at GEAPS Exchange 2012

Locomotive Radio Remote Controls Offer the Latest in Production and Safety for Grain Handling Operations

St. Louis, Missouri, USA - Laird Technologies, Inc., a global leader in the design and supply of customized performance-critical components and systems for advanced electronics and wireless products, today announced that it will exhibit locomotive wireless remote control solutions at GEAPS Exchange 2012. The exposition takes place at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, March 3-6, 2012. Laird Technologies can be located at booth #802.

Cattron, a unit of Laird Technologies, will show its complete line of wireless locomotive remote control solutions, including the CattronConnect(TM) software suite and QC-II remote control system. CattronConnect(TM) is equipment monitoring software that uses either 802.11, cellular phones or satellite phones to connect to the system network depending on asset and infrastructure location. It monitors a series of sensors and sends reports back to the user detailing equipment health. If an issue is detected on the asset, the system generates an alert before damage occurs to the machinery or personnel.

The QC-II is part of the QC standardized interchangeable portable control system designed to interface with locomotives equipped with American Association of Railroads (AAR) standard Multiple Unit (MU) connections. It enables one-person operation, if necessary, to control more than one locomotive at an operating facility from a safe and secure distance.

"CattronConnect(TM) and the QC-II controller are part of a collection of core products used on locomotives at grain elevator locations throughout the United States," said Dan Mihalcak, Vice President of Sales - Industrial Group. "As a continuing participant of the GEAPS Exchange, Laird Technologies can directly demonstrate how these cost-effective solutions provide the latest in reliability, safety and security; a necessity for users who remotely operate heavy machinery in harsh environments."

GEAPS Exchange 2012 is the grain handling industry's largest and best venue for professionals and suppliers to connect. The Exchange allows its members access to the best products and services about management, innovation and excellence in grain-related industry operations.

Laird Technologies has assembled the most comprehensive collection of radio remote control brands for material handling equipment, mobile equipment and virtually any equipment where the operator can be moved to a safer, more efficient location. With 65 years of radio frequency (RF) and industrial wireless remote control experience, the company has approximately 7,000 customers with a total installed base of over 150,000 wireless remote control systems throughout the world.
