Purchase expands EMI Solutions portfolio with established product brands

St. Louis, Missouri, USA - March 2, 2012 - Laird Technologies, Inc., a global technology company focused on providing components and solutions that protect electronic devices from electromagnetic interference and heat, and that enable connectivity through wireless applications and antenna systems, today announced its acquisition of Microwave Materials Group ("MMG"), the holding company of Emerson & Cuming Microwave Products ("Emerson & Cuming"). For the year ended 31 December 2011, Emerson & Cuming's revenues were Euros16.3. Revenues in 2011 increased over the previous year by 20%.

The purchase enhances Laird Technologies' EMI solutions product offering with the addition of ECCOSORB®, ECCOSTOCK®, ECCOSHIELD® and ECCOPAD®. These established product brands will continue to increase Laird Technologies' customer base in the wireless and satellite communications, military and aerospace, automotive, RFID and medical markets.

"Electronic devices are always evolving into smaller, more powerful products so the shielding requirements continue to change," said Michael Sutsko, President of Laird Technologies Performance Materials Division. "MMG broadens the range of products we can offer our existing customers as well as expands our customer base."

Emerson & Cuming is a global leader in the development and manufacture of microwave absorbing materials, low-loss dielectrics and electrically conductive shielding materials combining that absorber technology with a wide range of capabilities, in-depth knowledge of materials science, chemistry, microwave theory, and measurement techniques coupled with modern R&D laboratories , to offer high quality leading edge products and customized solutions.
