LPS® DETEX(TM) Innovates Food Industry Safety

DETEX(TM) Metal Detectable Plastic Components Are Revolutionizing Food Safety: Protecting Vital Machinery While Avoiding Product Recalls, Damaged Reputations, And Costly Downtime

TUCKER, Ga., -- DETEX(TM) products, from LPS(®) Laboratories, are NSF(®) registered chemicals specially packaged with metal detectable plastic components to protect against foreign object contamination. LPS(®) has expanded its DETEX(TM) products to include two NSF(®) registered K2 electronic cleaners.

Unlike traditional aerosol packaging, DETEX(TM) components can be identified using standard metal detection equipment should they become loose in the processing area. DETEX(TM) chemicals protect vital machinery, as well as protect against expensive recalls, costly downtime, and damaged reputations.

DETEX(TM) products are ideal for use in food manufacturing, processing, and packaging facilities. Six DETEX(TM) products are NSF(®) H1 registered lubricants and can be used in applications where incidental food contact may occur. The six NSF(®) H1 products can be used during processing allowing the equipment to remain in service, increasing uptime. The newest DETEX(TM) products include two NSF(®) K2 registered cleaners that can be used to remove dirt, grime, moisture, and oxides from electronic equipment in all manufacturing areas when food is not being processed.

Available in 16-oz. aerosol containers, DETEX(TM) products are easily sprayed onto application surfaces. For precision applications, DETEX(TM) products include a metal detectable extension tube to narrow the spray stream.

LPS Laboratories was started in 1961 when LPS 1(®) Greaseless Lubricant was first introduced.  Since that time, LPS has added a wide range of innovative products designed to meet our customer's MRO chemical needs. In 1999, LPS was acquired by Illinois Tool Works (ITW), of Chicago, Illinois, a 15 billion dollar specialty products and technology company with almost 100 years of diversified manufacturing history.
