PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI. -- Cherry Electrical Products announces the introduction of its new LPOS Series full-size keyboard line. This new POS QWERTY keyboard line features an enhanced key layout for POS and commercial applications.
Cherry's LPOS keyboards are fully programmable and provide uncompromised alphanumeric data entry. They offer plug and play configuration for all common POS features and unique function enhancement via 'Cherry Tools' virtual programming. The 'Cherry Tools' software also allows for quick product set-up and program configuration, including remote installation. As with all Cherry POS keyboards, the new LPOS product line is fully compatible with Microsoft's WEPOS operating system.
LPOS keyboards are available with or without a 3-track Magnetic Card Reader (MSR) and High Resolution Touchpad. LPOS keyboards provide 131-position key layout on models without a touchpad, and 127-position key layouts on models with the touchpad option. All LPOS models feature 42 relegendable keys for easy layout configuration and quick function calls. LPOS keyboards also offer free programmability of all key positions in three layers. The freely programmable headers and terminators and the flexible parsing of data make the LPOS keyboard suitable for nearly any application.
Cherry was recently voted the top keyboard brand by readers of Vertical Systems Reseller (VSR), a leading magazine reaching value-added resellers, systems integrators and other solutions providers. All Cherry LPOS and SPOS keyboards feature a rubber mat / membrane keyswitch design that withstands up to 25 million key actuations while maintaining an IP 54 rating for spill and dust resistance.
Cherry LPOS keyboards measure 17.4" X 7.2" X 1.4" with MSR and 17.4" X 7.2" X 1.26" without the MSR. LPOS keyboards come with a 6-foot USB cable and will begin shipping in October 2007. Suggested retail prices range from approximately $170.00 for the standard model to $233.00 for the model with the optional MSR and touchpad.
