Press release date: February 24, 2006

Cleveland, OH - (February 24, 2006) LMT-FETTE, INC. is rewarding its frequent tooling and toolholder customers with the opportunity to receive a new Induction Shrink-Fit Unit free. For a 24-month period, customers can apply 5% of their LMT tooling and toolholder purchases toward the cost of a new Shrink-Fit Unit. During that time, customers are offered the unit "interest-free". Based on LMT-Fette tooling purchases during the two-year period, customers will either own the Shrink-Fit Unit or pay the balance and buy it.

The ISG2200-WK and ISG3200-WK Shrink-Fit Units by Bilz combine thermal induction shrinking technology with a water based cooling process for fast tool change times. Using a unique processor-controlled high-frequency generator, coil geometry, and high tolerance parameters, the units allow carbide tools and HSS tool shanks to be quickly clamped. Ideal for use with Bilz ThermoGrip® toolholders, the ISG-WK series features a completely new method of direct water-cooling that significantly reduces cooling time compared to conventional methods. Control of the shrinking parameters prevents overheating of the shrink-fit holder. Bilz's own cooling process features a pneumatic cylinder that lowers the heated holder into the coolant tank, and eliminates the risk of injury associated with handling a heated holder.

Clamping ranges for the ISG2200-WK are from 1/8" - 3/4" (3 - 20mm) for carbide; ranges for high-speed steel are 1/4" - 3/4" (6 - 20mm). Clamping ranges for the ISG3200-WK are from 1/8" - 1 1/4" (3 - 32mm) for carbide; ranges for high-speed steel are 1/4" - 1 1/4" (6 - 32mm). The ISG2200-WK and ISG3200-WK units accept a maximum tool length of 10 inches (265mm) and 17 ˝ inches (450mm) respectively and both include an integrated cooling station that cools the tool in less than 30 seconds.

LMT offers a range of clamping chucks including C68T, BT and HSK in both metric and inch designs for use with these Shrink-Fit Units.
