LIA Announces Physician's Online Laser Safety Training Course


Orlando, FL- The Laser Institute of America (LIA) now offers an online training course that addresses the basic safety concerns of physicians using health-care laser systems in the surgical arena. The Laser Safety for Physicians Online Training Course is a multimedia program of study available via the internet that supports audio equipped computers using PC or Mac operating systems.

LIA's new course provides an overview of safe operating procedures and controls for physicians using lasers in their practice. Included in this 2-hour course are introductory sections on basic laser terminology, legal and regulatory issues, laser eyewear and safety standards.

Supplemental topics covered in the Laser Safety for Physicians Online Training Course include patient safety, Nominal Hazard Zones and Laser Treatment Controlled Areas, and critical information on how and when to service the laser, who should do it, and why. At the conclusion of the course there is a brief exam and a printable certificate suitable for record keeping.
