NORTH ANDOVER, MA - L-com, Inc., a global leader in the manufacture of wired and wireless connectivity products, announced today that it has won the 2012 Product of the Year competition for Structured Cabling Systems & Multimedia Cabling. The winning product was L-com's right-angle Ethernet cables.
The Electronic House Products of the Year awards recognize the best technology, products and services for the Electronic House. Winners for this award were chosen by several credible industry leaders along with the editors of Electronic House magazine and CE Pro magazine. The winners were publically announced today at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
L-com first introduced its Category 5e and Category 6 right-angle RJ45 Ethernet cables last year. Since then, the cable assemblies have become very popular. They feature a patent pending channelized pair guide which allows the sharp angle without damage to the twisted pair wires within the cable, ensuring that the cables pass Cat 5e or Cat 6 testing. The cables are available in several colors and right-angle orientations (including up, down, left and right). In addition, L-com plans to release shielded versions of these right-angle cables in the first week of April, 2012.
