NORTH ANDOVER, MA - L-com, Inc, a global leader in the manufacture of wired and wireless connectivity products, announced today that it now carries USB 3.0 Extension cables. The cables, which feature a USB 3.0 Type A male on one end and a USB 3.0 Type A female on the other end, come in lengths of up to three meters (about ten feet).
L-com recently began carrying USB 3.0 products. Its original lineup includes:
o USB 3.0 Compliant Cable Assemblies - Type A-A Connectors
o USB 3.0 Compliant Cable Assemblies - Type A-B Connectors
o USB 3.0 Compliant Cable Assemblies - Type A-Micro B Connectors
o USB 3.0 Compliant Adapters (Molded and Fully Shielded)
"USB 3.0 is the next generation of USB connectivity," said Steve Smith, L-com's Product Manager in charge of USB equipment. "It allows data transfer speeds of over ten times what USB 2.0 allows. Computers and peripherals with USB 3.0 are not prevalent in the market yet but their availability is increasing."
