L-3 Communications Promotes Lois G. Bailey to Vice President of International Licensing


NEW YORK-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Aug. 7, 2006-L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that Lois G. Bailey has been promoted to the position of vice president of International Licensing. In this newly-created position, Ms. Bailey will oversee all of L-3's international licensing activities for the import and export of products, as well as the company's Export/Import Compliance Program. Ms. Bailey will continue to be based at the Washington Operations office in Arlington, Va., where she has been serving as the director of International Licensing since L-3's formation in 1997, reporting to vice president of Washington Operations General (Ret.) Jimmie V. Adams.

With over 30 years of experience and training in export/import compliance, Ms. Bailey has conducted due diligence on over 40 acquisitions to determine their inherent export/import compliance posture and provide risk assessment to L-3 management. Her responsibilities also include the training and education of L-3 personnel in U.S. export/import laws and regulations, and in L-3's corporate policies. In addition, she is responsible for U.S. Customs issues and centralized management of all of L-3's international consultants, distributors and representatives. Prior to joining L-3, Ms. Bailey was responsible for export/import compliance and international security issues for Lockheed Martin's C3I sector. Previously, Lois worked at the Loral and Fairchild Weston Corporations.
