Kontos Foods to Showcase Value-Add Products at Seafood Expo North America

Kontos Foods, Inc. (www.kontos.com), a manufacturer and distributor of traditional Greek and Mediterranean foods, today announced that for the first time, it will be exhibiting its Fillo and Kataifi dough products at the Seafood Expo North America, formerly the International Boston Seafood Show, from March 16-18, 2014. The company will be demonstrating, at Booth #2278, how to create delicious seafood dishes with its Fillo and Kataifi dough products.

"Last year, we attended the New England Food Show and were impressed with the need in the marketplace for value-added coatings for seafood," said Steve Kontos, vice president of Kontos Foods "Our Fillo products are the perfect complement to fish, shellfish, and more. One of the dishes we'll be showing is salmon with spinach and feta cheese, wrapped in delicious flaky Fillo dough. We'll also be demonstrating how to use Kataifi dough to create a casing of golden strands around shrimp or scallops, which can be baked or fried to create a crunchy, flavorful treat."

The Seafood Expo North America is part of Kontos' global expansion effort. Last year, the company attended the Asian Seafood Expo in Hong Kong, as well as other trade shows. "At the Asian seafood show, we found attendees highly receptive to our Fillo-based recipes. In fact, the show resulted in several new customers for us in South Korea, China and Singapore," said Warren Stoll, Marketing Director of Kontos Foods.

In addition to selling products throughout the US and Asia, Kontos also has new customers in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain as a direct result of its export focus, and is expanding its focus in Europe.
