Seoul, Korea (north)

Press release date: April 12, 2011

Seoul, South Korea - Koh Young's 3D Technology truck tour, rolling across Europe, is only a third complete, but it is a growing success that sees more and more visitors at every stop. '3D Technology on Tour' is a mobile showcase of the company's award-winning patented 3D inspection technology, bringing the best that Koh Young has to offer in Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems to 20 countries throughout Europe and the U.K. for a span of 90 days. The tour began in March.

"We're seeing more than 50 visitors a day now," relates André Myny, Global Marketing Director for Koh Young. "We barely have time to set up the exhibit before the visitors begin arriving. On a few occasions, there wasn't even time for lunch; we're running equipment demos all day long." Visitor interest, Myny adds, spans the entire range of 3D inspection solutions.

The tour has just finished stops in the U.K. and returns to the continent, where it will be located in Alzenau, Germany at the Koh Young Europe facility until the tour resumes on May 3rd at the Nuremberg Electronics Show. In the interim, the truck tour demo exhibit will continue and be open to visitors in Alzenau.

By the time it is finished, the tour will have involved more than 60 hands-on equipment demonstration locations, designed to make it easier and more convenient for engineers across the continent to experience Koh Young equipment first-hand.

The second part of the tour will be in the south of Europe; and the third part of the tour will cover the Nordic countries, including Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, and Scandinavia, including Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden. More information about the tour, its scheduled stops, as well as on-line free registration, is available at www.3dinspectionontour.com.

Three of Koh Young's premier 3D inspection systems are on the tour: Zenith, the world's first true 3D AOI system; aSPIre2, advanced 3D solder paste inspection (SPI); and KY 8030-3, an in-line SPI system that offers 100% patented 3D solder paste volume measurement.
