Under expanded partnership, leading IT industry analyst relations consultancy KCG will resell Northern Light's new individual subscription tool for extracting meaning from IT analyst reports

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 5 / -- Northern Light (www.northernlight.com) today announced an expansion of its partnership with the Knowledge Capital Group (KCG) under which KCG will resell Northern Light's new Analyst Direct(TM) search engine for information technology (IT) analyst research to KCG's client base of analyst relations professionals and technology buyers at major corporations.

KCG (www.knowledgecap.com) is the leading global analyst relations strategy consultancy, offering extensive domain expertise in telecommunications, enterprise software, hardware and networking. KCG helps technology companies leverage the industry analysts' influence with end user customers and prospects to increase sales.

Analyst Direct lets technology marketers, product planners, analyst relations specialists and other professionals search reports from multiple research firms simultaneously, and seamlessly access reports using their existing analyst site logins. More than 80,000 market research reports from IT analysts such as Forrester, Gartner, IDC and other leading firms are part of the Analyst Direct database, which comprises approximately 95 percent of the billion-dollar database of all IT industry analyst research published annually.

Analyst Direct is an individual subscription version of Northern Light's SinglePoint(TM) hosted market research portal and content integration application for large enterprises. SinglePoint users number in the hundreds of thousands, including planning, research, sales, marketing and finance professionals at the top companies in each major technology sector of the Fortune 1000, such as Hewlett-Packard, SAP and Unisys.

Northern Light and KCG initiated their partnership last year to leverage the relationships both firms have with IT industry analysts, as well as with many large companies that work with the analysts and rely heavily on their research.

"Our partnership with KCG is about helping companies derive maximum value from IT analyst research," C. David Seuss, CEO of Northern Light, said. "KCG offers the most expert guidance for working with and influencing the analysts. KCG's counsel, in tandem with Analyst Direct, gives companies a powerful advantage as they seek to build their businesses and brands, sell their products and services, and literally invent the future."

"Northern Light and KCG have complementary expertise," noted Stephen England, KCG's president. "Northern Light provides the clearest window into what analysts have written. The combination of our two firms' services is a compelling offering for analyst relations professionals and technology buyers."

About Analyst Direct Analyst Direct leverages Northern Light's award-winning search engine and patented results classification to search all reports using a single search and alerting interface and the industry's best relevance ranking, so users never miss a single report they need. Most reports are full-text indexed and subject classified to a single, consistent standard.

Analyst Direct includes MI Analyst(TM), Northern Light's IT research- optimized text analytics engine. MI Analyst identifies the tone of voice (positive or negative) toward the user's company and its competitors in each report. Additionally, the text analytics engine performs meaning extraction to tell users what business issues reports address in areas like corporate strategy, product marketing, market share, and pricing.

Central to Analyst Direct's value proposition is the fact that Northern Light has agreements in place with IT analyst firms and secondary sources used by its clients today. The company manages the content aggregation directly from IT analyst firms in order to be able to index the full-text of new content on a daily basis.

Analyst Direct also includes access to millions of business news, trade journal and magazine articles. All articles are industry classified to provide analysis, commentary and perspective on 20 industries.

Analyst Direct is available immediately from Northern Light at www.analystdirect.com or 617-674-2074 ext 1, and to KCG clients directly from KCG. Subscriptions are $1,500 per year for one seat; $5,000 per year for five seats; and $50,000 for an enterprise-wide license.

Attendees at the KCG Connects Fall 2007 conference in Orlando, Florida Oct. 6-7 (knowledgecap.com/ConnectsOrlando2007.htm) can see Analyst Direct at Northern Light's exhibit area. Northern Light is sponsoring the Saturday evening reception and networking event at KCG Connects.
