ROCKFORD, IL - March 23, 2007 - The KleenVent KV Series of reservoir isolators from Parker Hannifin's
Hydraulic Accumulator Division help ensure continuous system operation with protection against the
ingestion of airborne contaminants - dust, chemicals and water vapor - through the reservoir's breathervent.
The result: reduced varnish build-up, longer lasting oil and extended filter life. Installation of Parker's
KleenVent reservoir isolator is estimated to pay for itself in less than one year through reduced hydraulic
system rebuild, maintenance and machine downtime costs.
Unlike conventional breather-vent filters, the KleenVent reservoir isolators provide a positive separation
without the possibility of clogging, making them maintenance-free. They utilize an elastomer bladder as a
"lung" where the changes in gas volume in a hydraulic system's reservoir can be trapped and prevented
from mixing with the outside atmosphere.
"Air is one of the worst contaminants in hydraulic systems, because it promotes oxidation of the fluid, which
in turn degrades the properties in the oil leading to varnishing of components," notes Rob Lorance,
marketing manager of Parker's Hydraulic Accumulator Division. "Air also brings moisture with it into the
system, which can condense in the reservoir and fall into the oil as water. This leads to further degrading of
the oil and its additives. Hence a significant environmental benefit that comes with the installation of a
KleenVent reservoir isolator, and longer lasting oil, is much less waste for disposal."
Compatible with virtually any industrial fluid (with proper bladder selection), KleenVent reservoir isolators
are ideally suited for use with hydraulic systems in steel/primary metal mills, foundries, pulp and paper

The KleenVent KV Series of hydraulic reservoir isolators includes:
o Eight models with capacities ranging from 2.5 to 80 gallons
o Polyglass shells for 2.5, 5, 10 and 20-gallon models
o Steel shells for 20, 40, 60 and 80-gallon models
o Four bladder polymers to fit a wide range of fluids and operating temperatures
o Buna-Nitrile (-20ºF to 200ºF) - compatible with most mineral oil based fluids
o Butyl (-40ºF to 200ºF) - compatible with most phosphate ester fluids and some synthetic
fluids
o Fluorocarbon Elastomer (-10ºF to 250ºF) - compatible with most mineral oil based fluids at
higher temperatures and some exotic fluids
o Ethylene Propylene (-40ºF to 200ºF) - compatible with some synthetic fluids and water
oOptional pressure/vacuum breaker to protect the reservoir in the event of a sudden fluid loss or
over-filling
