Kirk Key Brings Trapped Key Interlock Systems to IEEE PES Show

Press release date: March 10, 2014

Massillon, Ohio – Kirk Key Interlock Co. will exhibit its full range of trapped key interlocks, including the new Eagle Series for valve interlocking, at the 2014 Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers Power Engineering Society (IEEE PES) Transmission and Distribution Exposition, April 14-17 at the McCormick Place Convention Center (Chicago, Ill.), booth 1842.

Kirk's interlock systems ensure that a pre-determined sequence of operation is followed for safe shutdown and startup of equipment in electrical switchgear or power generation and distribution applications. Its new Eagle Series integral valve interlocks fit nearly every type and size of quarter and multi-turn valves. When paired with Kirk's mechanical and electromechanical trapped key interlocks, the combination provides a comprehensive safety system for the power industry. To suit a variety of needs, Kirk's trapped key interlocks come in Standard Duty (SD), Medium Duty (MD) and Heavy Duty (HD) configurations.

Both switchgear OEMs and end users visiting Kirk's booth will find informative hands-on demonstrations and animations illustrating trapped key interlock coordination schemes specific to the power industry
