Key Appointments at Altobridge Bolster Already World-Class Remote Community Solutions Business

Kerry Technology Park, Ireland, 11th October, 2010 - Altobridge, the leading supplier of remote communications solutions, has made two important high-level appointments to its Remote Community Solution (RCS) business, which will bolster what is already one of the industry's strongest teams delivering cost-effective and green-power-enabled mobile connectivity to remote communities around the world.

Olof Lindberg, recently with UDcast SA, France, joins Altobridge as VP, Global Sales, where he will be responsible for driving worldwide sales and partnerships for the growing remote communications market.

He was previously VP Global Sales at Cambridge Broadband Networks, UK, where he was responsible for sales of cellular backhaul/transmission solutions to mobile operators. He also added considerable first-hand knowledge of African and Middle Eastern markets during this time to his already extensive experience in these regions gained in his previous roles with IPWireless, UK, as sales director EMEA. Before that, Olof contributed to Cisco's expansion, first as territory manager Sweden, and later as country manager Saudi Arabia.

As Altobridge's activities across Africa and the Middle East, Asia and Latin America increase, Olof's personal experience of being involved in closing contracts in Africa (Cameroon, Ghana, Uganda, South Africa, Morocco, Tanzania), Latin America (Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Columbia) and Asia (Malaysia and Mongolia) will be a major asset in his latest sales role.

In the second appointment, Peter Tuomey, Altobridge's General Manager Asia for the past three years, has been appointed Director, Product Management. In this role, he will work closely with the global sales, marketing and R&D teams as they build on the growing, worldwide success of the RCS.

Relocating back to the UK from Malaysia to take up his new post, Peter has been instrumental in ensuring the success of Maxis as Altobridge's important reference customer in the area of remote communications. He leaves behind a solid base of live Remote Community Solution sites across Malaysia and a firm order book, which will almost double the number of sites currently using Altobridge technology, and strong prospects for incremental sales with Maxis.

Aoife Sexton, President Remote Community Solutions at Altobridge, said, "We are pleased to announce these two key appointments, which we believe will set the stage for even more customer wins around the world for our Remote Community Solution, as well as continued product innovation, particularly in the area of low power green solutions. The track records of both Olof and Peter are clear indicators of the huge opportunities which lie ahead for Altobridge and we are delighted to welcome them to their new posts."
