Kenneth F. Yarosh Elected Vice Chairman of the ASTM International Board of Directors



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.-Kenneth F. Yarosh, global service line manager for the specialty chemicals business center of Dow Corning Corp., Midland, Mich., has been elected vice chairman of the ASTM International board of directors for 2010-2011. As vice chairman, Yarosh will help to shape the policy direction of one of the world's premier international standards organizations.

During his 24 years with Dow Corning Corp., a global leader in silicone and silicon-based technology, Yarosh has provided key industry expertise to the construction industry. For most of his career, Yarosh served as a technical service specialist working closely with construction specifiers and sealant contractors on building projects in North America. In 2003, Yarosh moved to Belgium to manage Dow Corning Europe's technical service team for the construction industry. He then relocated to Midland, Mich., in 2007 to lead Dow Corning's sealants and adhesives product development group in North America.

Yarosh is currently vice chair of ASTM International Committee C24 on Building Seals and Sealants, and he also serves on Committees D14 on Adhesives, E06 on Performance of Buildings and E60 on Sustainability. He participates in many interlaboratory studies and has worked on several key standards for the glazing and weatherproofing industry. In addition, he serves as a global liaison between the sealants industry and Committee C24, and he is principal author of technical papers for C24 and E06 symposia.

In 2005, Yarosh received the ASTM Award of Merit and title of fellow for his contributions to Committee C24. He was also honored with the C24 Sealants Hall of Fame Award in 2001. Yarosh has served on the ASTM board of directors since 2006 and is currently chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee.
